Haas team boss Günther Steiner has ruled out bypassing the British government’s 10-day quarantine period by traveling directly from Turkey to France.

Just a week after Turkey announced as a replacement for the Canadian Grand Prix, which was canceled due to Covid-19 concerns, the country was redlisted by the UK government, meaning anyone who is out of the Traveling Turkey must be quarantined in a hotel 10 days after their return.

Although there are 12 days between the GP in Turkey and the first practice session for the GP in France, the quarantine period would not allow the necessary preparatory work to be completed in advance of the race at Paul Ricard.

As F1 is now assessing the situation and Steiner will provide an update at some point this week, he has insisted that staff do not have the option of being away from home for up to six weeks to ensure the Turkish event takes place .

“Everything is possible, but there is a limit to what you can ask of people,” said Steiner.

“We have to be respectful because we can’t keep people from going home for six weeks. It’s not fair.

“It’s good to work, but it’s not that the rest of the schedule is easy. Last year was tough and this year, at the end of the year, it’s going to be difficult when we get all of the races that we hope to race.” . ”

“We don’t have to overdo it and I don’t think it’s an option to go ahead for the next two years and never go home.”

Should the GP in Turkey be canceled, it would be the fourth race that would be affected as both Australia and China would be postponed and Canada would be dropped.
