In addition to his commitments, the British-Thai driver also drives in the DTM, but Albon is keen to explore the possibilities before finalizing his plans for 2022.
After Albon was photographed in a Dale Coyne Racing IndyCar in Indianapolis, he said, “I want to see what’s out there.
“My main goal is to be in Formula 1, but there is never 100 percent certainty, so you have to have plans B and C to see what else there is.
“I’ve always had this interest in IndyCar. You see it on the rise now, especially in viewer numbers and everything that’s going up. ”
“Honestly, it’s hard to say if I want to do this,” he added.
“I’m seeing a couple of teams out there right now. I want to chat with them and see what’s out there so I can decide what I’m going to do.
“Let’s just say when there is the right opportunity, or let’s say there is an opportunity in F1 and there is an opportunity that is a good opportunity with a good team and when I think it’s in the next Days like this is “something I would enjoy, obviously then the opportunities [of racing IndyCar] Go up.”
Grosjean smile “interesting to see”
Albon was encouraged by Romain Grosjean’s quick integration into the IndyCar paddock as the French made the Indianapolis podium earlier this season.
Grosjean made the move to the States after nine uninterrupted years in Formula 1 with Lotus and Haas.
“See Romain” [Grosjean]It was also very interesting to see what he’s doing, “said Albon.
“I just wanted to see what he thought about it. Is he happy Of course he’s happy.
“He always has a smile on his face. How was this transition for him and how did he feel right away in IndyCar? It looks very good here. “
