As a rookie this F1 year, it is unlikely that Mick Schumacher would have suddenly taken to the top of the grid. It takes time to familiarize yourself with the rest of the pack, and it’s even harder to drive for Haas, a backmarker team. Schumacher Jr. certainly thinks that being at the back of the pack is torture.

In the opening race of the season and in Schumacher’s debut in F1, the German fought and even sinned on the racetrack in Bahrain. However, he recovered from the spin and managed to bring the car home in 16th place. Unfortunately, the 22-year-old was unable to score any points for his team.
Last weekend, at the Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna, Schumacher again crossed the line in 16th place and could not score any points.

Mick Schumacher thinks it’s not fun to drive behind
After the race, Schumacher said in an interview with Channel 4, as quoted by PlanetF1: “I don’t really know what I’m doing when I’m in the car. Let’s say facial expressions or feelings, I just love to drive so that I can have fun with what I do.

“And I don’t enjoy it when I’m not the first, so it’s a kind of torture that goes on the back with no real competition,” Schumacher concluded.
Driven by anger after the crash in Imola: Schumi
In Imola, the German lost his front wing after an accident. In addition, this crash also significantly lengthened the duration of his pit stop as the crew could not easily remove the broken wing.
As quoted by PlanetF1, Mick said, “To be honest, I don’t really know what happened. It went pretty quickly, I just lost it and couldn’t get it back in front of the wall.
“I think my driving after that was pretty much driven by my anger – I don’t know if you saw it on the lining, but I did a couple of bridges and walked in the gravel and stuff.”

“Overall, I think we have to learn from this in order to regroup a little faster. In general, I just think I wanted to catch up as soon as possible, but unfortunately we were a few laps behind, ”he concluded.
The next round of the season takes us to Portugal. Schumacher and Haas want to have a better weekend and hopefully get their first points of the season.
