Cole Custer is the son of Joe Custer, President of Stewart-Haas Racing and Chief Operating Officer of the Haas F1 Team. Cole Custer was born on January 23, 1998 at Ladera Ranch, California.

Currently, with a population of just over 26,000, the ranch is a master-planed parish and census-designated location in southern Orange County, California. The racing star also attended Ladera Ranch Middle School and Tesoro High School.

Cole Custer was four years old when he took his first foray into racing. This is the age most kids start riding bikes, but young Custer was already doing his first few laps behind the wheel of a Quarter Midget racing car in North Carolina.

Youngest race winner in the K&N Pro Series

Custer joined the K&N Pro Series East in 2013 and then made his debut at Bristol Motor Speedway for Ken Schrader Racing. He won pole position and led all the laps he drove at Iowa Speedway during the season, a record feat in a combination race.

At the same event, Custer eventually sailed to victory, becoming the youngest ever race winner in the K&N Pro Series to emerge victorious at the age of 15 years, 6 months and 10 days.

In his seventh career start in the Truck Series, Custer became the youngest winner in a NASCAR national series race in 2014 at the age of 16 years, 7 months and 28 days. To earn the checkered flag, Custer dominated early before driving off late on the final restart.

Custer is currently a full-time driver in the NASCAR Cup Series for Stewart-Haas Racing. The relatively young but extremely talented and experienced driver was announced by Stewart-Haas Racing on November 15, 2019 as a replacement for Daniel Suarez.
