Hey Carlos Sainz Jnr, the Ferrari F1 team’s salary should be enough to stroll for your father’s iconic 1994 WRC drive. This Subaru Prodrive 555 Group A is being auctioned at Lloyds.
Once driven by Colin McRae and Carlos Sainz, it was retired in 1996. Since then it has had a few owners, made the rounds of a few demonstration rally events – but ended up only in a barn.
“When we first saw this car, it was a barn find, valued at between $ 15,000 and $ 20,000. Today it had a thorough cleaning and history review, and it could well be worth more than $ 1 million, ”said Lee Hames, Lloyds Auctions chief operating officer.
At one time the car had license plates L555REP celebrating Repsol’s sponsorship with Carlos Sainz and Subaru.
The Subi is equipped with the original 2.0-liter turbo engine and six-speed manual transmission.
“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own such a unique vehicle and we are honored to be passing it on to the new caretaker,” continued Hames.
This iconic vehicle would fit nicely in any racing car collection – and could fetch $ 1,000,000 if the bid is right.
