Lando Norris was not a happy person after the race in Saudi Arabia. The McLaren driver felt badly done due to a red flag pit stop which, in his opinion, directly resulted in his getting a bad result.

Norris, who started from P7, finished tenth.
In the post-race interview, he expressed his frustration with the rule that allows drivers to enter the pits when the flag is red. The Brit who usually smiles was really trying to hide his frustration behind the smile.

But his words and what he essentially said, despite a smile, gave it away. When the interviewer suggested that there might be a discussion on the matter, Norris said, “Too much discussion, we have to change it.”
“You should give me access to the rulebook, the official PDF. I’ll hit edit and just delete it. Select it, right click, delete. ”
Only when it was so easy to change the rules in Formula 1, and yes, that was a cruel result for Norris. But there is one positive aspect for McLaren in this result.
And that’s because your two drivers have scored points in the last three races after a points drought.
Lando Norris is frustrated but should be a little relieved too
In the battle for third place in the constructors’ championship, it seemed as if Ferrari would pull clearly. And the Italian team did indeed clearly pull. But the result in Saudi Arabia gives McLaren some chance of fighting in Abu Dhabi.

In the last three races, McLaren only scored four points in Qatar, Brazil and Mexico. All four of these points came from Lando Norris’s goals.

So off to Abu Dhabi. McLaren’s fate as third-placed in the championship is still in their hands. You can always change what the championship looks like at that moment.

But one thing they can’t change (at least for now) is the rules, no matter how much Lando Norris wants.
