Carlos Sainz will do his first run in a Ferrari next Wednesday when the Italian team announced a five-day blockbuster test on their Fiorano test track. The Spaniard will share a 2018 specification SF71H with new teammate Charles Leclerc and a number of young Ferrari drivers – including Mick Schumacher, who will drive for Haas in 2021.

The five-day test begins this Monday, with Sainz getting his first chance to drive one of the famous red cars on the third day of testing – Wednesday January 27th – and the morning of the fourth day. It will be his only chance to test before the pre-season test in March in Bahrain, where he and Leclerc will drive for three days in Ferrari’s yet-to-be-named 2021 car.

Leclerc will take the wheel on the second day of testing after recently testing the SF71H 2018 in Mugello ahead of the 2020 season in June.

To kick off the five-day test on Monday, January 25th, three hopefuls from the Ferrari Driver Academy will line up – Giuliano Alesi, Marcus Armstrong and Robert Shwartzman, the former two who are driving F1 machines for the first time.

Ferrari juniors Schumacher, Ilott and Shwartzman tested the SF71H in Fiorano last September
