Brewery and pub group creates beer to celebrate Pub Pride Day

Hertfordshire’s award-winning Farr Brew pub group is preparing to celebrate the first ever Pub Pride Day on July 23rd by brewing a memorial beer.

Pub Pride is a nationwide campaign by Ask for Clive, a charity that works with venues to promote inclusion and create welcoming environments for the LGBT + community.

The campaign encourages pub owners and managers to host Pub Pride events on July 23rd using Pub Pride event kits, including rainbow flags and pennants and t-shirts for staff.

In keeping with this, Farr Brew has created Pride Pale, an ale specially made for Pub Pride, to raise funds and raise awareness for the Ask for Clive campaign.

Farr Brew donates 100% of its profits from keg sales to other pubs in Hertfordshire and 20p from every pint of Pride Pale sold in one of the Farr Brew pubs to Ask for Clive.

Speaking about the launch of Pride Pale, Matt Elvidge and Nick Farr of Farr Brew said, “We want to do as much as we can to support Ask for Clive and Pub Pride and create a special Pub Pride Day ale for that we raise funds the charity seemed to be best for us.

“Customers will see Pub Pride next to the Ask for Clive sticker in pubs across the country, knowing that these venues welcome everyone and will not tolerate discrimination in any way. Pubs pull together to speak out against discrimination against the LGBTQ + community put.”

Stroud Brewery launches new River Cottage beer range

Stroud Brewery – an independent organic craft beer maker – has partnered with River Cottage’s Hugh Fearnley-Wittingstall to launch three new beers – a brand used on a number of projects, including a long-running Channel 4 television series and cooking classes.

The beer trilogy #FoodToInspireChange is intended to draw attention to the shortage of hops and promotes a three-year project that was initiated by Stroud Brewery as part of the Innovative Farmers Program.

The project aims to identify and test disease resistant hop varieties and enable the UK beer industry to become less polluting and organic. It brings together two organic farmers with researchers from the Organic Research Center, in partnership with River Cottage and Charles Faram

“Organic hops grown in the UK are very difficult to come by and the challenge of growing them is the biggest barrier to increasing the production of British organic beer,” said Gray Pilley, founder of Stroud Brewery.

“By working together as a supply chain, we want to identify varieties that farmers can grow more safely, and as a brewer I want to be a regular supplier of organic hops in the UK – there is also a wide variety of flavors to use that could help UK brewers to create more distinctive products. “

We dare to reveal a new “hybrid spirit”

Audemus Spirits announced the launch of Fractal 3.0 Blooming, which is dubbed a hybrid spirit for curious drinkers.

Fractal 3.0 Blooming was born from the wish of the founder and distiller Miko Abouaf to create a “table spirit” that can be combined with food.

Fractal 3.0 is a mixture of distilled biodynamic Gewürztraminer from Alsace in France and a small amount of organic bergamot, which is produced in the southwestern Italian region of Calabria.

With an alcohol content of 21%, the new Fractal is best served chilled and served neat, but according to its creators it can also be enjoyed with a light tonic mixer.

Abouaf commented: “Fractal 3.0 is going in a completely different direction than Fractal 2.0.

“In contrast to 2.0, which was about aged spirits and rich, deep flavors, Fractal 3.0 is a white spirit that was developed for drinking with food.

“What these spirits have in common is that they don’t fit into any beverage category, which means we can create new variants under 3.2, 3.3, etc.”
