Lewis Hamilton is known for winning awards both on and off the track. This time it wasn’t the drivers’ championship that he took home, but the Hawthorn Memorial Trophy. It was the eighth consecutive win for the knight. The award is named after Britain’s first world champion, Mike Hawthorn, who held the title in his hands back in 1958.

There is no doubt that Lewis was exceptional on the Formula 1 grid. The 7-time world champion has set several world records. It is therefore not surprising that he is the recipient of an illustrious accolade in the world of motorsport.
He won the Hawthorn Memorial Trophy; eight times in a row and eleven times in total. The Knight lost a chance to win it in 2009 and 2011 when it was loaned to Jenson Button. And in 2010 and 2013 it was given to Mark Webber.
