Maserati first raced in April 1926 and the brand has had a long history in motorsport ever since. Racing fans will also remember that the great Juan Manuel Fangio made his racing debut with Maserati in the early 1950s. To celebrate its nearly centenary racing legacy and Fangio himself, Maserati has gotten to grips with the F Tributo Special Edition models for the Ghibli sedan and Levante SUV.
The F, as you might have guessed, stands for Fangio – a driver who to this day is considered to be one of the most talented people to have ever sat behind the wheel of a racing car. Both the Levant and the Ghibli are painted in stunning colors, with the hues themselves being of historical significance.
The Levante is painted in Rosso Tributo, Italy’s racing color. Have you ever wondered why Ferrari’s F1 cars still sport a similar shade of scarlet? You may not have noticed that the early Maseratis all rode in red too. The Ghibli special edition is painted in Azzuro Tributo, a color that, in combination with yellow, characterizes the colors of the city of Modena, Maserati’s historic home.

Both Maserati F Tributos are fitted with glossy black 21-inch wheels with a yellow trim that create a further connection between these vehicles and Fangio’s Maserati 250F Formula 1 vehicle. There are also “F-Tributo” badges and body-colored Triton logos on the C-pillars for a little more pop. In the interior, both vehicles are equipped with a completely black interior with carbon fiber accents. Ghiblis get yellow contrast stitching while Levantes get red.
If you’re a Fangio fan, appreciate the Maserati legacy, or just want to stand out from the brigade of black and white boredom that patrols our streets these days, these two masers might be for you.
