Ferrari presents new logo to celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2022

Several studies have been carried out over the years to show that Ferrari is one of the strongest brands in the world in terms of recognition and importance. It’s right up there with Apple, Ford, and Coca-Cola. Perhaps this explains why it was important for Ferrari to come up with a new logo before 2022, when Italy’s scarlet automaker celebrates its 75th anniversary.

Enzo Ferrari founded the legendary car manufacturer Maranello in 1947 and got into Grand Prix racing almost immediately. Ferrari competed in 1950, alongside Alfa Romeo, Maserati and others, in the very first Formula 1 world championship race at Silverstone – and to this day Ferrari is the only team that has competed in Formula 1 every year since the championship was founded.

Mr Ferrari, also known as il Commendatore, quickly found that he needed to focus on building road-bound sports cars in order to fund his F1 team in order to have a viable racing team. And although Ferrari is a publicly traded company these days that sells Ferrari-branded plush toys and picnic baskets along with supercars, it is still very important to fund its expensive F1 program through its auto sales.

On Tuesday evening, a video was posted on Ferrari’s YouTube channel explaining the inspiration behind the new logo and mosaic on display at Ferrari headquarters. The “sculpture”, as Ferrari chairman John Elkann describes it, is essentially a jigsaw puzzle made up of thousands of pieces, made in the Maranello factory and assembled by Maranello employees.
