Sainz and Leclerc have both impressed this year for the Italian team, which currently occupy a joint third place in the constructors’ championship, and Binotto has no doubt how strong his line-up is.
Looking back on the first half of the campaign, Binotto believes that his drivers do more together than any other team pairing.
“I am very happy for many reasons,” said Binotto. “First of all, I think we have the best line-up for the entire pit lane.
“Second, because we know Charles is a fantastic driver, but he’s constantly improving, and we’re very happy with that.”
After a disappointing 2020 season in which Ferrari slipped to sixth place in the overall standings, the team has achieved growth in both the engine and the chassis this year.

And although it hasn’t won a race since the Singapore Grand Prix in 2019, Binotto sees opportunities for it this year.
The fact that Sainz (with 83 points) and Leclerc (with 80) are so even in the overall standings also shows that both get the best out of the car.
“We had great chances of winning this season,” said Binotto. “The first was in Monaco and for the reasons we know it didn’t happen.
“On the other hand, Carlos integrates very well and improves from race to race. Let me say that he is a benchmark for Charles too and drives him even in more difficult conditions.
“That shows how important it is to have two good drivers who score points for the constructors’ championship. I am very happy with it. I am very happy because I am sure that these two guys will bring us great success. “

Ferrari’s best chance of victory was the British GP, when Leclerc led much of the race before being overtaken by Lewis Hamilton a few laps before the checkered flag.
