Ferrari F1 had a big disappointment last season when it finished P6. Could they overtake Renault, Racing Point and McLaren to P3 with significant changes to their machines?
Due to Covid-19, the new regulatory changes by the FIA have been postponed by one year to 2022. This means we will see few significant changes to all vehicles on the grid this season, including the Ferrari F1. The goat in F1 had a terrible last season and 2021 can only be better for them. Unless they don’t stop the rot and Red Bull’s sister AlphaTauri overtakes them in P6.
Ferrari has a new car this season called the SF21. Due to the regulatory delay mentioned above, most of the SF21 will be SF1000. If Ferrari can get a few more podiums than last season and get into the top 3, it will lead to happy moments in Maranello, Italy.

The most important changes were seen in the aerodynamics and in the engine. The latter is also an important concern for the Alfa Romeo and Haas customer teams. This has led the Ferrari F1 hierarchy to cut and introduce a new, hopefully more powerful, PU.
Can Ferrari F1 beat McLaren, Racing Point and Renault in P3?
Due to the similarity between SF21 and SF1000, terms like “SF1000 Version B” and “SF1000 2.0” have appeared. What is crucial, however, is that Ferrari currently has far greater resources than its three direct competitors. If they can use the resources well and get Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz recruiting the best possible car, we could see Ferrari climb onto the podium behind Mercedes and Red Bull and regain a lot of lost pride.
