In Formula 1, the simulator is of enormous importance for the drivers and teams. They use them to prepare for future races and improve their skills. However, McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo believes many of the younger drivers are relying too much on it. Even then, the Australian driver doesn’t think the simulator makes too much of a difference.

Even so, he admitted that the younger drivers like to spend time with it. Of course, it can be attributed to the fact that they often spend a lot of time playing video games. Ricciardo explained: “In F1, as in many other sports, the trend is for the younger generation to use more and more simulators.
“I don’t know if that will help, but they are enjoying it.”

Daniel Ricciardo also spoke about his own future in F1
At the age of 31, the seven-time race winner knows that he is approaching the twilight of his career. However, he insisted that he would continue to drive in Formula 1 in the near future. According to him, as long as he still has the motivation to push the car to its limits, he can still keep up.

Ultimately, it all depends on how long Ricciardo can still race. However, he has stated that he has to be competitive if he is to keep racing. So far, he and his teammate Lando Norris have been strong in the 2021 season. Norris already has a podium and McLaren gave Ferrari a good fight.

Granted, Norris picked up the lion’s share of the points. However, this was mainly because Ricciardo still needed time to get used to his car. Fortunately, the Spanish Grand Prix indicated good times as it produced a fantastic result for the Australian driver who finished sixth ahead of his teammate.
Hopefully he can pass this luck on and qualify for the Monaco Grand Prix on May 23rd.
