Ferrari’s latest addition Carlos Sainz believes they can beat his former team, McLaren, in 2021. The Spanish driver couldn’t find the car’s pace but believes they will beat the Woking team this season.

The Maranello-based team had a terrible season last year. The team finished 6th in the constructors’ championship with just 131 points. However, with new blood in the form of Sainz, they think they’ll push and even beat the orange team on the grid.

Ferrari is currently fourth in the championship, McLaren third with 53 points. Only two races have been removed from the F1 2021 calendar so far, but the Italian team knows they can beat their rivals.

Carlos Sainz believes he can beat his former team McLaren
As quoted by Racer, Sainz stated, “I think it’s very close, honestly. It is very difficult to choose. I think the McLaren has its strengths and weaknesses, and so do we. What makes it a really nice fight is that we are fast in very different places on the track and it makes a very fun fight. “
“Maybe they have a bit of the upper hand in the last two races. As soon as we have a very good weekend and go on a track that might benefit us a little, we can be ahead, ”concluded Sainz.
Sainz hopes to repeat the same bromance with Charles as he did with Norris
Without a doubt, the friendship between Sainz and Lando Norris has been one of the best we’ve seen in recent years. However, when it became known that Sainz would be leaving at the end of the season. Sainz would like to have the same relationship with Charles Leclerc at Ferrari.
