
2021, the year that offered so much to Formula 1 fans, is finally over! Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton caused a hype amid their intense F1 title rivalry, while Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz battled all the way to win the “Best of the Rest” label.

In addition, there were the two absolutely unexpected race victories of Daniel Ricciardo and Esteban Ocon. And to top it all off, veterans Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso found their way back to the podium in Baku and Qatar, respectively.
Hence, 2021 was indeed one of the most fertile years for the entire racing community; and hoping to see a repeat in 2022 as well, the F1 community has been saturated with New Years wishes on social media. Let’s take a look at some of the tweets from F1 teams, drivers and journalists.

F1 community welcomes 2022
Sergio Perez posted the heartwarming picture of his son watching him take the P3 trophy on the podium in Mexico. He continued: “Thank you 2021, you have been an incredible challenge and the seed of all that is to come. May a year of good health come for all. Happy New Year!”
Meanwhile, Pierre Gasly held it back and wished a happy new year with a countdown. “3. 2. 1. Happy New Year !!” he wrote. Carlos Sainz posted a picture of himself and his team-mate Leclerc holding a box that reads “Until 2022”.

Former FIA President Jean Todt continued to express his urge to improve road safety with his latest New Year’s wish. “My best wishes to everyone for a healthy and happy New Year. In 2022, let’s all work together to create a world where mobility and roads are safe for everyone, everywhere, ”he wrote.
