
George Russell will join Mercedes next season to drive alongside Lewis Hamilton. Many drivers have given advice to the British driver on how to meet the challenge of being a teammate with the 7-time world champion. But Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel commented on the new pairing and how Lewis should deal with Russell.

Vettel was in a similar position in 2019 when Charles Leclerc joined Ferrari. The Monegasque was on par with the 4-time world champion and finally prevailed.

Vettel got a foretaste of the talent of the young generation in 2019. However, he mentions that the Mercedes driver does not need his advice and can easily master Russell’s challenge on his own. He also said Lewis should enjoy battling a young teammate in 2022.

As reported by Formula 1, Vettel had some duels on the track with the young Monegasque. But he seems to have enjoyed his off-track time with Charles.

Charles’s 2019 results on the track are believed to have influenced the Italian team to make him the number one driver ahead of Vettel. This decision meant that Vettel had to leave the Ferrari at the end of the 2020 season.
