Damage to Red Bull is not that bad
So where Mercedes clearly scored, the damage to the underdog in Monza, Red Bull, was very little. ” The team only lost six points in the battle for the world championship title with Mercedes on a favorite Mercedes track. If the Verstappen pit stop had gone according to plan and Perez had given the place back to Leclerc immediately, the damage would have been even less. ”
“Like Mercedes, Red Bull had brought a special wing for Monza, but after the first free practice the engineers realized that they had placed too much emphasis on top speed. The wing has been adapted to reduce the loss in the corners at Mercedes and also to wear the tires less. ”
Mercedes thus retains the top position in the power ranking, followed by Red Bull Racing. McLaren moves up one place at Ferrari’s expense, followed by AlphaTauri, Alpine and Aston Martin. Williams leads from behind, behind Alfa Romeo and the clear number two: Haas.
