The Enquirer expects McLaren to deliver the £ 200 million project, which involves building a new factory and testing the wind tunnel at the Formula 1 team’s new headquarters.
The construction work will take 18 months on the scheme designed by Ridge and Partners LLP
Three buildings spanning 400,000 m² will house the team’s design, manufacturing and marketing resources, the brand new wind tunnel and a factory and logistics center.
McLaren declined to comment.
The construction marks the first completely new factory in Formula 1 in Great Britain in 17 years – most recently the McLaren Technology Center in Woking, which was officially opened in 2004.
