Lewis Hamilton in his Instagram story urged Hungarian citizens to vote in favor of protecting LGBTQ + rights in the country’s upcoming referendum
Lewis Hamilton has harshly criticized the Hungarian government and expressed his support for the LGBTQ + community in the country.
Ahead of the Budapest Grand Prix this weekend, Hamilton posted a message on his Instagram story describing the recent Hungarian legislation banning the portrayal of homosexuality towards young people as a “coward”.
“To everyone in this beautiful country of Hungary. Before this weekend’s Grand Prix, I want to share my support for those affected by the government’s anti-LGBTQ + law,” wrote Hamilton.
“It is unacceptable, cowardly and misleading for those in power to propose such a law. Everyone deserves the freedom to be themselves, no matter who they love or how they identify with.
