Glock urges Vettel to get “smart” in the midst of Aston Martin’s F1 battles

Glock urges Vettel to get "smart" in the midst of Aston Martin's F1 battles

A decade ago, Sebastian Vettel was the beauty of the ball, the hottest property in F1. He became the sport’s youngest champion in 2010 and the experts couldn’t stop singing praises for his driving style, aided by his careful preparation. But so far, various ex-drivers have given him advice on how to get over his slump.

After his Ferrari nightmare in 2020, Sebastian Vettel should turn the tide in his favor. However, the season opener in Bahrain was not the starting point for this. It was more of a continuation of his fall after making mistakes in both qualifying on Saturday and in the main race on Sunday.

The Aston Martin blamed the nature of its car and Mazepin’s spin for its struggles. However, his German compatriot Ralf Schumacher did not buy it when he asked him not to make any more excuses. And another former F1 driver agrees with Schumacher.

“I partially agree with him,” Timo Glock told Sport1.

“The mistake in qualifying mustn’t happen to him. There were also other yellow flag cars that received no penalty. The mistake in the race mustn’t happen to him either. Then to say, “The other would have made the mistake.” He has to try to act wisely and really focus on the essentials – which he sure does. “

Glock wants Vettel to use his wealth of experience

Vettel is one of the most experienced drivers on the F1 grid. Not only one of the most experienced, but also one of the most successful in its history. So Timo Glock wants him to channel all of this and get back to basics to thrive again –

“It’s never nice to start the season like this and to have a fireworks display of horror reports like this behind you. But he has enough experience to pull his head out and focus again on the essentials. “

Sebastian Vettel has to return to the drawing board. Only then can he capture the form that made him the four-time world champion with Red Bull.
