F1 drivers are keen on the third US race as Las Vegas talks grow

Since taking over F1 in 2017, Liberty Media has been determined to expand the reach of the World Cup in America.

Netflix’s Drive to Survive documentary series was a huge hit in boosting the sport’s popularity in the United States, while Liberty also secured a deal for the first Miami Grand Prix to be added to the calendar from 2022.

This weekend’s United States Grand Prix will be the first in two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is expected to attract 120,000 fans on Friday and Saturday and 140,000 fans on Sunday at the Circuit of the Americas.

In the run-up to the race, rumors were circulating of the prospect that F1 would like to add a third venue in the States, possibly Las Vegas.

His comments came a week after F1 unveiled a draft calendar for 2022 with a record-breaking 23 races.
