The former Force India and Renault F1 driver will try IndyCar machines for the first time at Barber on Monday on a trip with the Arrow McLaren SP team.
The IndyCar test came at the request of Hülkenberg, who is considering his future options outside of Formula 1.
Arrow McLaren SP has already confirmed that Pato O’Ward and Felix Rosenqvist will be used during the 2022 IndyCar season.
Although McLaren has spoken openly about the possibility of using a third car in the future, Hulkenberg’s test was described as a “golden opportunity” rather than an assessment for a possible drive in the next year.
