As reported by GP fans, the Aston Martin team boss hopes that he would join Wolff and Horner in their banter. But he knows he’s not at her level right now.
“I wish we could be up there, and if I had to have these jokes, I’ll enjoy this opportunity,” said Szafnauer.

He mentioned that the banter between Red Bull and Mercedes team bosses was entertaining for the fans. “I think from the fans’ point of view, because I talk to fans a lot, they find the fascination in not knowing who will win the championship in the end, not knowing who will win the fight week by week, they find entertaining, ”said Otmar.

Szafnauer explained that the rivalry between Red Bull and Mercedes is crucial for the sport as it makes the sport more exciting and fun for the fans. But he views F1 fights as boxing matches rather than entertainment.
“When I talk to fans because they often ask my opinion and I ask them, yes, they find it more entertaining.”

“I’m more of a purist. I like to think we box more, but whatever, that’s me. Although I’m also a fan, I’m more of a professional than a fan in this sport, ”concludes Otmar.
Aston Martin is currently fighting for P5 in the constructors’ title. The changes in 2021 got them massively handicapped as they hit P4 in the 2020 season.
