Vettel battled his way through his debut racing weekend with Aston Martin. In addition, the high-priority race day got the majority of the hit. Vettel caused an avoidable accident with Esteban Ocon, as the German slammed into the back of the Alps due to the lack of downforce.

Ultimately, the stewards gave him a 10-second time penalty, in which Vettel quickly fell back in order and marked the weekend with a poor P15.

But with the next race weekend around the corner, Vettel is striving to put an end to such unnecessary incidents on the track.

What did Sebastian Vettel say?

During the press conference on the Emilia Romagna GP, the 33-year-old noted that the poor performance in Bahrain did not frustrate him. Instead, he used the three-week break to learn from the mistakes and is ready to start with the British team on the second weekend.

“Well I think frustration is the wrong word,” he said. “Because I think frustration doesn’t get anywhere. I think the key is that I understand what happened and I think I did. And you try to learn from it. So, yeah, I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t happen again. “

In recent years, Vettel has caused too many turns and crashes on the track. And this aspect led Ferrari to look for a replacement as they believed the German had lost his ground in Formula 1.

But even if other teams weren’t interested in giving the four-time world champion one of their places, Aston Martin wasted no time in talking to the German.

And although it was a difficult start to this new phase, the British team is not giving up its hopes anytime soon and still has enough faith in Vettel to make a comeback.

The goal is clean races: Vettel

Vettel announced that his main goal now is to have a clean race at the Emilia Romagna GP this weekend. Additionally, he hopes his goals will improvise as he gets deeper into the season.
