Aston Martin celebrates the first Saudi Arabia Grand Prix in a way

Mathematically, Max Verstappen could win the 2021 World Cup at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. If that happens, Verstappen would be the pole holder of a move in the Formula 1 championship after almost a decade. However, this change is still uncertain. What will certainly change in Saudi Arabia, however, is the look of the Formula 1 safety car.

But only for a weekend.

Kym Illman, the F1 accredited photojournalist, recently shared the news on his Instagram account. Illman wrote that the Aston Martin Safety Car will be wrapped in the flag of Saudi Arabia.

“At next weekend’s Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, expect the Aston Martin Safety Car to be wrapped in the Saudi Arabian flag. The green flag with white lettering goes well with Aston Martins normal green color. The week after that, the Aston Martin will return to its normal livery for the season finale in Abu Dhabi, ”says the caption.

Rivals beckon at the first Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

After the race in Qatar, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff suggested that Mercedes could bring an even better package to Saudi Arabia.

“It’s a long straight, we’re going to get our sharp gear (engine) out for Saudi Arabia that we didn’t use (in Qatar),” said Wolff.

However, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko hinted that despite using the engine from Brazil, Mercedes will not make big profits. The Austrian believes that it is because Mercedes can no longer use its “extremely flexible rear wing”.

“Mercedes will use the rocket motor from Brazil in Saudi Arabia again. [but] because you can no longer lower the spoiler, it takes less than 0.4 seconds, ”said Marko.

For many weeks the race in Saudi Arabia was shrouded in uncertainty. The questions arose as to whether the race will take place or not. This was because the track wasn’t fully built and it looked like it wouldn’t make it.

But now it is certain that the cars are ready to rumble on F1’s newest and fastest street circuit. We have an exciting race ahead of us that could potentially add even more excitement to this already exciting 2021 season.
