Alfa Romeo will run interim livery at Barcelona F1 test

Alfa Romeo will only formally launch its 2022 Formula 1 car after the first pre-season test in Barcelona, where it will run in an interim livery.

The new C42, which was originally planned to be known as the C40 before the new technical regulations were postponed one year, will be unveiled in its full livery on February 27.

That is the Sunday after F1’s first pre-season test, which will run across February 23-25 and is being billed as a three-day shakedown for all teams rather than an official session.

Alfa Romeo – which has a recent history of running special shakedown liveries, such as its Valentine’s Day-themed 2019 color scheme (pictured below) and the 2020 camo livery (pictured above) – is currently the team with the latest car launch although some have yet to confirm their plans publicly.

Aston Martin, McLaren, AlphaTauri, Ferrari, Mercedes and Apine have all announced launch dates prior to the first test.

Alfa Romeo has made a subtle revision to its official 2022 entry, which will come under the Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN name.

It has an all-new driver line-up in ex-Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas and Formula 2 graduate Guanyu Zhou.
