Formula 1 returns to the streets of Baku for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix this weekend.

After his first win in Monaco, Max Verstappen is four points ahead of the top of the drivers’ championship last time.

Lewis Hamilton needs to recover in Baku after a hot weekend in the principality where he finished seventh.

Over the years, the Azerbaijan GP has been chaotic and exciting due to its urban course character combined with long straights that allowed overtaking opportunities.

McLaren is expected to perform well in Baku, while Ferrari is unlikely to hold the form it showed in Monaco.

What can you expect this weekend?

Sunny and warm conditions are expected throughout the race weekend.

Pirelli has nominated C3, C4 and C5 tires for this weekend – the softest compounds available in its range for the season.

Ahead of the weekend, Pirelli’s Mario Isola said: “From one unique track to another: Baku offers a very different test than Monaco, but the precision required to avoid trouble is similar. For the first time we are bringing the softest tires in the range to Azerbaijan, as well as to Monte Carlo. The reason for this nomination is that the hard was not used at all in the 2019 Baku race, while the medium was used extensively. By realigning the nominations, we hope that all three links play an important role and lead to different strategies. In Formula 2 there is a step between the mixes, just like in the season opener in Bahrain.
