During the press conference on the Thursday before the race weekend, Aston Martin boss Otmar Szafnauer spoke about his drivers. Szafnauer talked about whether Sebastian Vettel would be a good mentor for Lance Stroll. So far, the two drivers have got on well and have shown a decent performance.

He said, “Lance is not a beginner, he’s been with us for a while and there is a good dynamic between Lance and Sebastian. Sebastian is more experienced and the way we hold debriefings has changed a bit. Sebastian expanded the way we do things, not just Lance, but the entire team embraced it. “

It’s worth noting that Vettel is known for his technical knowledge. According to a former Toro Rosso employee, every team for which the 4-time world champion rode became a winning team with him. As an example, he cited Toro Rosso and Red Bull as he helped carry the team.

How have Lance Stroll and Sebastian Vettel fared this season?

So far, Vettel has shown a decent performance and finished before Stroll in every race. Although he was just getting used to the car, he managed to beat Lance Stroll. In fact, Vettel achieved a best season result of 5th place in Monaco and helped the team to 5th place in the championship.

Admittedly, they both had a bit of bad luck in GP qualifying in Azerbaijan. Stroll became the first of many victims of an accident on Turn 15 in which he will start from behind. Meanwhile, poor old Sebastian Vettel narrowly missed a top 10 when Daniel Ricciardo showed the red flag.

Now the two have a lot to do before the race on Sunday. They know they must do everything in their power to stay one step ahead of AlphaTauri and Alpine Racing. This is because AlphaTauri is one point behind Aston Martin while Alpine is another point behind.
