” That makes the team weaker ”

'' That makes the team weaker ''

Aston Martin has been pretty critical of this season’s rules for the past few weeks and even threatened to take legal action. In his column for The Race, Gary Anderson explains why the pressure from above could cost Aston Martin its head.

Strolling creates pressure

The former Jordan, Jaguar and Stewart designer sees the pressure on the team mounting since Lawrence Stroll’s arrival. ” There has to be a certain amount of patience and long-term planning. I’m sure Lawrence Stroll is keen to see his team win more races as soon as possible, but that’s not the way to go. ”

“ I’m afraid it could implode from management pressure if it really should be on track to get to the front lines. The best thing for the Aston Martin team now is to look at the bigger picture, focus on getting the most out of this year’s car, and learn all it can. You have to do everything right to be successful in F1 and decide which battles to fight. Right now, the pressure from above will only weaken the team, ”concludes Anderson.
