
Robert Kubica will take part in the first free practice session Hungarian Grand Prix weekend for Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN on Friday.
The Polish racing driver will take over the car Kimi Raikkonen In the Hungary for his third training outing of the season, having previously run in sessions during the Spanish and Grand Prix of Styria weekends.
And Kubica will be at the center of support from many fans, with the Pole looking to help the team progress ahead of the last race before the summer break.
“It’s always great to be back in the car, especially in Budapest, the race closest to Poland on the calendar,” said Kubica. “There are always a lot of Polish fans in the stands and I know there will be a lot of flags to greet me when I step out of the pits on Friday.
“Once you are in the car the focus is obviously on doing the best possible job for the team and helping our engineers set up the car. In midfield, the gaps are very small, so every improvement can be crucial.”
Frederic Vaseur, the Alfa Romeo team principal, is delighted to have Kubica back in the car for a third time in 2021 as the Pole has impressed the team in his previous outings.
“Robert has done a really good job for the team so far this season and we’re looking forward to seeing him back in the car in Budapest,” said Vasseur.
“His technical feedback really helped us with the set-up of the car and we’re confident he can help us get even more out of our package as the season progresses.”
