Robert Kubica will have his first appearance in a Formula 1 racing weekend since last year at the Styrian Grand Prix this weekend.
The Alfa Romeo driver will appear for the team in practice at the Red Bull Ring on Friday. Kubica already has experience with the C39 after driving it in pre-season tests.
“I’m looking forward to getting back active this weekend, especially after the long break that saw the whole world of motorsport watching,” said Kubica. “As always, my goal is to provide our engineers with as much data as possible and to give them my feedback from the cockpit.
“This weekend will be a whole new experience for everyone. We will go to the place we were a few days ago. So the point is to refine all the data that we have collected during the course of the Austrian Grand Prix and to test the adjustments that we want to make to the cars. “
Kubica will drive Antonio Giovinazzi’s car in the first practice session. Giovinazzi finished ninth on Sunday on the same track, while team-mate Kimi Räikkönen was eliminated after his car dropped a wheel after a pit stop.
