What did Kimi Raikkonen say?
Almost everyone knows that Raikkonen taught the 6-year-old how to go-kart and that he constantly offers the advantages and disadvantages behind the wheel. Unfortunately for Raikkonen, one of his pieces of advice ended in a setback.
The Finn announced that he always instructs his son to look forward during the race, which Raikkonen sr failed to do during the race in Portimao. So Raikkonen revealed how Robin reacted after looking at his collision.
“Sure, far from ideal,” said the Finn. “But I think the worst part was probably my son telling me that you always told me to be happy when he drives go-karting. He gave me a little of it. “
Since the world was locked citing the COVID-19 outbreak, Raikkonen has been spending a lot of time with his son on the track. In fact, the two even competed against each other several times in 2020.
What happened during the Portuguese GP?
From P15 on, Raikkonen had a decent short break and moved up to P13, pushing himself right behind his team-mate Giovinazzi.
However, given the lack of overtaking opportunities, the Finn had to wait until the main straight to attempt an overtaking. And it looked like he’d hit the Italian pretty easily as the former found a better exit from the final corner.
