Alfa Romeo F1 has implemented a development plan for the second half of the season, as explained by Frédéric Vasseur. The team principal notes that the C42 will have new parts for its home race at Monza in the third Grand Prix after the break.

«We have the next upgrade at Monza. Then something bigger is planned for Suzuka, but it could also be Austin » said Vasseur, who continues to oppose the changes the FIA is planning on porpoising.

The federation wants to raise the edges of the floor by 25 mm, but the Frenchman is worried about the consequent changes that this will require to make, and the drifts that this could bring in the second part of the season.

« One change often leads to many more. We need the opposite, and the stability of the regulations to reduce costs. I’m also not thinking of the measure from Spa. What will the FIA do if the cars hit violently to the ground in the Raidillon de l’Eau Rouge as usual? Will they all have to ride 30 millimeters higher?

Finally, Vasseur explained why the arrival of Guanyu Zhou did not create an influx of Chinese sponsors: « It is not enough for Chinese companies to have a compatriot in the adventure. They only work with you if the performance is also good. »
