- Acer will provide Sauber Motorsport with a range of technologies
- Extension includes marketing activation with driver Kimi Raikkonen
Sauber Motorsport, the manager and operator of the Formula 1 team Alfa Romeo Racing, has extended its partnership with the electronics company Acer.
The one-year extension calls for the company to provide the team with a range of hardware, including laptops, tablets, computers, and monitors, for all aspects of auto design and racing.
The new Acer technology will be used on the track and in the team’s home in Hinwil, Switzerland, while the Taiwanese company is also planning marketing activities with Alfa Romeo driver Kimi Räikkönen.
Key Sauber Motorsport members also receive advanced tablets to support connectivity, collaboration and productivity.
“Our collaboration in 2020 has highlighted the synergies between the world of high-end information technology and motorsport – both are highly competitive environments in which the pursuit of performance is the constant goal and in which every day opens up new opportunities for development”, said Frédéric Vasseur, Alfa Romeo Team Principal and CEO of Sauber Motorsport.
“The collaboration in 2021 is a natural result of this and we look forward to a successful season together.”
The 2021 Formula 1 season begins on March 26th at the Bahrain International Circuit.
