While Sergio Perez may have had a strong start to the season with Racing Point, doubts about his seat for the 2021 season still hang heavily on his shoulders.

Despite having a contract with the Silverstone-based team for the next season, Perez is said to be the one who has to bend over and make room to sign Sebastian Vettel.
The rumors kept the Mexican and his agent busy. It was recently reported that Checo could return to his previous team, Sauber, now known as Alfa Romeo.

However, the boss of the Swiss team, Frederic Vasseur, doesn’t want to worry about a conversation with the driver change in the middle of a busy season.

In an interview with AUTOhebdo.fr, Vasseur replied to a question about Perez’s rumors: “Come on, a little serious! We’re in the middle of six races in a row.
“The priority is to get back on track rather than discussing it with drivers in 2021.”
In addition, the boss of the Hinwil-based outfit does not believe that there will be any new movements in the driver market, at least in the near future.
He said, “The market is not going to move in the coming weeks. At least in terms of the factor that all eyes are on. We focus on the work we need to do and (the rest) we’ll see later. “
Well, it’s good to see that they got their priorities right. With just two points from the first three races, it is imperative that Alfa Romeo focus on what has gone wrong so far and work on how they can improve it.

The only team behind them at the table in the Constructors’ Championship is Williams. And that’s certainly not the type of company they want to be in.
Perez, too, will likely be fully focused on the coming season. He’ll want to show Racing Point managers that quitting your contract might not be a good idea.
Perhaps a podium or two will help the Mexican silence rumors he’s giving way to Vettel. He’ll definitely have the car he can use to be on the podium.
