It’s a question of when, not if: Former Red Bull driver on Piastri
As reported by Formule1.nl, the aforementioned Australian Piastri has won everything there is to be won in the junior categories. So it would be interesting to see how the young driver develops in his role as reserve driver in the French team. But Mark is still unsure why a driver like Piastri is not on the grid for the 2022 season.
“You’d think that otherwise all the drivers in Formula 2 and Formula 3 would be wasting their time. When you see what he’s done, what’s the point of doing what he did if you can’t switch in the end? It’s a question of when, not if. That shouldn’t be arrogant, but it just has to be, “said Weber.

Webber stated that the system works for young drivers. “The system works and I know that Stefano Domenicali (Formula 1 boss, editor’s note) is ahead.

He knows that Oscar should definitely benefit from his successes in the youth classes and of course Alpine and the youth classes know that this needs to be addressed. Oscar should and will be the first when the driver market reopens, ”concludes Webber.
It’s a shame that F1 fans have been prevented from seeing Piastri’s talent on the grid. But let’s hope we can see the young Aussie driver get his chance in an F1 car in 2023.
