There were three Italian races for the first time in 2020 – and unfortunately he was eliminated from all of them for Red Bulls Max Verstappen. At the Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna on Sunday he looked at worst in second place before he was described by team principal Christian Horner as an “immediate puncture”.

Verstappen then indicated that he had no warning that something might be wrong with his right rear tire. Both Horner and Pirelli boss Mario Isola suggested that rubble could have been responsible for the Dutchman’s spectacular end.
