According to team principal Christian Horner, Max Verstappen’s fight against Lewis Hamilton was the biggest championship in the racing history of the Red Bull F1 team. Despite losing the constructors’ championship, the Red Bull F1 team boss was delighted with his driver’s victory after a breathtaking and intense Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi.

In an interview with Sky Sports F1 after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the Red Bull F1 team boss praised Verstappen and said:

“Max drove his heart out this year. It’s definitely at the top, this is probably the biggest championship we’ve ever won. “

While they didn’t end Mercedes’ dominance in the sport, Max Verstappen has relentlessly deterred Lewis Hamilton from taking another title. Despite the tension in the midst of the intense fight, this result was the result of a fight to the last round.

For the Red Bull F1 team, this season has probably been more intense than the four titles they won with Sebastian Vettel. Although both Verstappen and Horner praised Hamilton and Mercedes after the race, their spirits are still clouded by the tensions of their rivals who are currently protesting.

Mercedes protested against Max Verstappen

After an intense fight up to the last round, Mercedes lodged two protests: one against Max Verstappen and one against the commissioners. Although it is very likely that the protests will be successful, the race standings are still awaited. Their first protest consisted of accusing the Dutchman of overtaking behind the safety car, while their second protest was that lapped cars were not allowed to drive themselves out.
