Red Bull Advanced Technologies (RBAT) has teamed up with ORECA to collaborate on the chassis concept for all future prototypes in the hydrogen class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2024 after the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ASO) held a competitive interview.
ASO has published the tender for the exclusive delivery of the chassis for hydrogen prototypes to advance its low-carbon motorsport plans.
ORECA and RBAT have partnered for the first time by pooling their expertise in a winning combination. Both companies are very interested in the ACO’s hydrogen program, which includes the creation of its own hydrogen class in 2024. ORECA will draw on the know-how of its design office and production capabilities, as well as its knowledge and experience in endurance racing, while RBAT will bring your expertise in racing car design, which is heavily focused on aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, simulation and optimization of the Concentrated energy recovery. The first task for the partners is to carry out and provide a detailed feasibility study for the vehicle concept.
RBAT and ORECA join Plastic Omnium, the exclusive supplier of the prototype hydrogen fuel tanks for the cars set to make their endurance debut in 2024.
