It seems the death defying motorcycle jump that was teased earlier this year won’t be the only visual spectacle at the center of Mission: Impossible 7 – directed by Christopher McQuarrie and starring Tom Cruise – as it turns out another stunt a whole train ride involves a similarly dramatic dive. Oh yeah … potential spoilers.
Taken by unofficial cameras in Stoney Middleton, Derbyshire, where the teams allegedly built the set for about five months, a black locomotive can be seen driving ahead at full steam. After a short while he falls straight from the cliff, where the path ends, into cloudy water. Locals said Cruise was also there to witness the spectacular crash.
Given that the 59-year-old action star was also spotted over another train in Norway last October, filming a fight sequence, you can imagine what the scenes will entail when put together and with a bit of Hollywood film were embellished magic. Or maybe McQuarrie and Cruise just felt like throwing in two separate train sequences. Who knows?

While riding a motorcycle over the edge of a cliff may sound pretty average after decades of being exposed to essentially the same thing in the movies, when Cruise breaks down the logistics behind the other big stunt in Mission: Impossible 7, you realize that Real Deal is a very different ball game; and appreciate what is being jeopardized here for our mutual entertainment. In fact, the sequence required months of training and weeks of planning.
“If the wind was too strong, it would blow me off the ramp,” explains Tom Cruise.
“The helicopter [filming the stunt] was a problem because I didn’t want to hammer down the ramp at top speed and get hit by a stone. Or if I went off in a strange way, we didn’t know what would happen to the bike. ”
“I had about six seconds to pull the slide after exiting the ramp, and I don’t want to get tangled up in the bike. If I do that, it won’t end well. “
As Tom Cruise briefly pointed out, this is your normal motorcycle jump, followed by a well-timed parachute deployment. And like the train stunt from Mission: Impossible 7, we just have to wait to see him on the big screen before judging the supposed wow factor.
Mission: Impossible 7 will be released here in Australia on May 26th, 2022. If the country isn’t still closed by then.
