Where does the United States Grand Prix take place?

The United States Grand Prix has been held at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, since 2012.

The Circuit of the Americas is one of the longest tracks on the Formula 1 calendar, with 20 corners and one lap that normally lasts around 100 seconds. Its defining feature is the steep hill away from the starting line in the first corner. This wide corner allows drivers to carry the speed into the next four corners, all of which pass at high speed. There are two DRS zones, the first after curve 20 on the start / finish straight and the other after curve 11 on the back straight.

United States F1 Grand Prix tips and recommendations

Where, oh, where has Red Bull’s pace gone? Max Verstappen’s team was far from the pace during the entire Turkish Grand Prix, could not be at the top in any session and took advantage of Lewis Hamilton’s starting penalty. For Red Bull it was not only a missed opportunity but also a daunting sign of the future as they dominated the timesheets in Turkey last year with a worse car than this year’s.

The bottom line was that Verstappen was the better driver in this year’s championship fight. However, after three races without a win and a bad weekend, the Dutchman and his team have to prove that they are still there before we can support them again. The Circuit of Americas makes it even harder to help Verstappen rebound as it’s a complex track that in certain parts favors a car with superior aerodynamics (Red Bull) but superior performance in other sections (Mercedes).

That means we will lead Hamilton to victory on Sunday and if the pace difference is still as big as it was in Turkey, he will have no problem beating both days.

Hamilton’s Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas has been a new driver since joining Alfa Romeo in 2022 and has delivered his best performances of the entire season in recent races, including a race win in Turkey. Bottas can now build on his good form on a track where he was victorious on his last visit to F1 and where he reached the checkered flag at COTA in 2019.

Between the year without the United States Grand Prix, the complexity of the track in terms of the strengths of the different cars, and Red Bull’s recent pace, this year’s Austin GP is particularly difficult to predict. However, a strong racing pace from Mercedes is always a reliable prediction – and recently a constant weekend from Bottas as well. We’ll come back to it this weekend and get his second podium in a row with the Finn at the Circuit of the Americas.

AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly stays in our pick for reliability and was one of the most consistent midfield drivers on the grid in 2021, despite driving a car that isn’t as strong as the two dominant midfield teams, Ferrari and McLaren.

In 16 races so far in 2021, Gasly has qualified in the top 6 12 times and finished the race in the top 6 six times (twice he had to abandon the race after starting in the top 6). That’s an incredible achievement for a driver who is at best in the fifth-best car on the grid.

We’ve seen Gasly secure a top 6 position on street circuits, traditional circuits, high-speed cornered courses, and those that require heavy braking. His consistency was one of the safest things in Formula 1 this year, and we will be happy to support him again in a race with significant unknowns.

How to bet on Formula 1

The most popular way to bet on Formula 1 odds is to simply pick the winner of a particular race. Other popular F1 betting options include which car / constructor will win and whether or not a particular racer will finish on the podium with a top 3 finish.

The odds for F1 races usually look like this:

This means that if Vettel wins that particular race you will win $ 650 on a bet of $ 100. If a driver is particularly dominant, you may see a minus sign (-) in front of that driver’s odds, like this:

This means that if Hamilton wins the race, you have to wager $ 175 to win $ 100.
