Red Bull has unveiled the car they hope will end Mercedes’ F1 dominance if they aim for the 2020 title.
The RB16 was featured on social media, but Red Bull were the first team to hit the track in their new 2020 car later on Wednesday when Max Verstappen was unleashed at Silverstone.
“In our iconic matt paintwork, things get straight back to business when the Bulls pick up where they left off and prepare for the start of the 2020 Formula 1 season,” said the team.

Ferrari is stuck in a 12-year F1 title drought. These “extreme” changes could end it
Red Bull hasn’t won a title since 2013, but there is renewed optimism for the new season, the second with Honda – who made significant improvements with their engine towards the end of last year.
The team therefore expects an intense three-way battle with Mercedes and Ferrari for the championship.
Red Bull, who consistently delivered a strong chassis, also has a star driver in Verstappen, who will be joined by Alex Albon in 2020.

Is that Verstappen’s chance for the first F1 title?
The 22-year-old Verstappen enjoyed the best F1 season of his brilliant career in 2019, finishing third in the championship and winning more races than ever before.
The Dutchman, who is now the most important act in Formula 1 alongside six-time champion Lewis Hamilton, believes he is now ready for a first sustained title challenge and hopes the RB16 will give him this chance.
“We want to fight for the title,” said Verstappen, who recently signed up to Red Bull until 2023, told Sky Sports F1 earlier this month.
“I hope that from this year we will at least fight for a podium and that the worst-case scenario will be third.

“We’re doing everything we can to try to develop further.”
Mercedes have won every F1 title since Red Bull’s last, but the team is confident they can be the Silver Arrows’ main rivals this season.
Red Bull also finished behind Ferrari in 2019, but much of their season was focused on getting the most out of their new Honda engine and they finished the race as a much more consistent force.
