Teams Red Bull Racing and Alpha Tauri announced in a statement that they will be partnering with Acura over the US Grand Prix weekend. Honda’s North American performance partner, seen on F1 cars in the 1980s and 1990s, will return to F1 with the Honda-powered teams.
Acura, which has consistently featured on F1 cars in the American and Canadian races in the past, will return to the sport after 14 years. The American high-performance brand has already featured on the helmets of F1 legends such as Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost.
Acura will partner with the Red Bull Racing Team and Alpha Tauri over the USGP weekend
In line with Red Bull Racing and Alpha Tauri’s partnership with Honda, Acura will return to the sport, with their branding replacing that of Honda on the fenders. The brand will also be featured on the team’s driver overalls and helmet visors.

About the new collaboration, Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner said:
“As Honda’s high-performance brand in North America, it only seems right and appropriate for Acura to be at the forefront of motorsport, Formula 1, and we look forward to welcoming you back to this year’s United States Grand Prix.”
Recalling Acura’s presence in Formula 1 in the past, Horner said:
“I remember Alain Prost winning the US Grand Prix in 1989 with Acura on his sights. Hopefully the brand will bring us the same result this weekend at the Circuit of the Americas. ”# F1 this weekend for the #USGP

Alpha Tauri team boss Franz Tost sounded similar to Acura’s return to Formula 1 and said:
“We’re delighted to have such an iconic brand on our cars for the United States Grand Prix in Austin, especially since Acura was so many years ago that it last appeared in the sport.”
The French team principal of Red Bull Racing’s sister team added:
“We have had one of our best seasons so far and I hope Pierre and Yuki can perform at their best this weekend so that we can celebrate as a team with Acura like other F1 legends have done in the past.”
On Acura’s new partnership, Emile Korkor, Assistant Vice President of National Sales, said
“I’ve been a huge Formula 1 fan all my life, and growing up in Canada as a kid, I remember Acura appearing on Senna and Prost helmets at the Canadian Grand Prix.”
Korkor emphasized the importance of Formula 1 for a performance brand like Acura and said:
“Motorsport is extremely important for a performance brand like Acura and we are very pleased to be partnering with Red Bull Racing Honda and Scuderia AlphaTauri Honda for this race.”
Regarding the special alliance, Masashi Yamamoto, Managing Director of Honda F1 said:
“It’s very special that Acura is part of our partnership with Red Bull Racing Honda and Scuderia AlphaTauri Honda for the 2021 United States Grand Prix.”

Honda is nearing the end of its involvement in Formula 1 as an engine supplier and its successful partnership with the Red Bull Racing Team and Alpha Tauri Team is becoming one of the most exciting in the sport.
