After the Red Bull Racing drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez narrowly missed the top step of the podium in Bahrain, they start the Imola Grand Prix charged and determined. Verstappen thought about last year’s race in Imola:
“I feel very relaxed about this race weekend in Imola and I am looking forward to going back there. Last year we had a pretty good race up to the tire problem. “
The Dutchman finished second when a tire problem forced him to retire with 12 laps remaining.
Regarding the Imola race this weekend, Verstappen said:
“Again, it’s too close to the start of the season to know how we’ll do. We’ll have to wait and see what happens on the track. The desire comes from within and I am motivated to try to win every single race. Let’s see if we can do better. ““/> Red Bull Racing’s Sergio Perez prepares to drive to the 2021 Bahrain GP ahead of qualifying. Photo: Mark Thompson / Getty Images.
Having had a tough weekend in Bahrain after a few hiccups at the start of the race, Perez summed up his debut with the Milton Keynes squad by saying:
“I learned a lot. I learned more about Max’s driving style and how the car has to be driven to get the most out of it. I think that was the biggest insight. I know the balance I have with the car all weekend need. “
Qualifying will be of crucial importance for Red Bull at Imola
The Red Bull Racing Mexican recruit was optimistic about the Imola Grand Prix, saying:
“My goal is to have a good race and I’m looking forward to the weekend. Hopefully we can come back at Imola and fight for a podium and hopefully for a win. Unlike Bahrain, qualifying is very important at Imola as. ” you can barely overtake there, but i like it. “
Both drivers are expected to start the weekend at the Imola Grand Prix on the front foot. The car has an aerodynamically superior chassis and powerful Honda power unit, making them favorites on the legendary Italian circuit. Although Dr. Helmut Marko claimed the team will be using the same package as in Bahrain, speculation suggests that Red Bull could bring chassis updates to Imola’s high-downforce circuit.
This could be the weekend when Verstappen redeems his loss to Lewis Hamilton at the season opener in Bahrain.
