An old video of Lewis Hamilton flying onto a theater stage in a McLaren wingsuit reappeared on social media as Formula 1 took a winter break. The rare video shows the Briton in one of McLaren’s bizarre campaigns for their title sponsor Vodafone in 2008.

Check out Hamilton in a McLaren wingsuit in the video below:

Hamilton’s flight in his wingsuit racing suit was the result of a commercial partnership between Vodafone and McLaren. When Apollo was cast in a play about the Trojan War, the seven-time world champion had to fly in and end the war, according to the advertising campaign.

Amid the many absurd promotions drivers made for their sponsors, this promotion took place in the second year of the seven-time world champion’s F1 career. Hamilton won his first world title the same year his theatrical performance was shown for Vodafone.

Lewis Hamilton’s return to Formula 1 in 2022 not yet confirmed

The seven-time world champion has remained silent on social media after a heartbreaking end to the 2021 campaign. This has fueled speculation on whether the Briton intends to return to the launch in 2022. Mercedes hasn’t confirmed Lewis Hamilton’s departure or return, but speculation continues to mount.

As his brother Nicholas Hamilton recently confirmed, Lewis Hamilton is on a social media hiatus. The fans asked whether the Briton is interested in continuing the sport. Mercedes boss Toto Wolff mentioned in a post-season video that the Brit was “disillusioned” after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and the controversial result made both of them question their beliefs in racing.

The controversial final round of the finals in Abu Dhabi, which sealed the fate of Lewis Hamilton’s 2021 title campaign, has sparked fascinating theories and speculation about its future. Mercedes may have given up their intention to protest the outcome in court. However, the Briton’s silence and absence on social media have sparked fan indignation over the FIA, its race director and the mismanagement of the last race.
