Peter Bonnington absolutely put the look down and it looks like Mercedes is ready to take on the Dutch crowd at Zandvoort. The team has a challenging race ahead of them that hits the tarmac on the home track of Verstappen. Hamilton seems to be leaving the booing fans of the past unimpressed and is trying to silence the prospect of the same at Zandvoort.
Lewis Hamilton and the audience in Zandvoort
F1 journalist Lawrence Barretto aptly described the Dutch GP as the “Max Verstappen Show”. The manic of the Hamilton fans at Silverstone is mirrored in Zandvoort by the Orange Army. Unlike Silverstone, the track won’t be used to full capacity, but the roar of 70,000 fans won’t be easy to ignore. There are fans who come to the nearby water parks and hotels without tickets for the race to bask in the exciting atmosphere around Zandvoort.
Max Verstappen’s growing fan base treats the driver like the hero they never had. With Verstappen on a high podium and the reopening of the track after 36 years, the Dutch fans will be in high spirits.
Heimheld Verstappen is confident about his prospects
Both rivals would try to prevent each other from winning. Verstappen wants to take the win, regain his position at the top and win for the Dutch fans.
Verstappen is confident that his team is having a good time. “It can be really good, it can’t be that good, but I think we’ve been competitive all year round so far, sometimes fighting for victory, sometimes for a podium and let’s hope that we can achieve something similar here. “
