After a rather subdued phase, Mercedes AMG is back in full swing and is showing off its social media skills. The Brackley outfit has arguably the best social media team on the net that has brought out content after content in recent years.

With 2021 nearing completion, Mercedes has come up with another hilarious video. Only this time it has nothing to do with memes or setbacks, but rather a video of mistakes with the Mercedes engineers in the lead role.

It is a known fact that quite a few engineers, including James Allison, James Vowles, and Andrew Shovlin, often turn up on Twitter and YouTube, barely a day after each of the Grand Prix events for debriefing. None of them have a tendency to smile and have rather stern faces with clear answers to fan questions.

Mercedes ends 2021 with hilarious video

No matter how brave you are, speaking in front of the camera tends to make them feel uncomfortable. The same goes for Allison, Vowles, Andy Cowell, and Shovlin.

Allison, in particular, was the funniest of them all, with no dialogue or glances at the camera. The Brit looked pretty speechless throughout the video, and there’s no denying that the entire social media team would have had a laugh or two while taping these debriefings.

Meanwhile, there was also a moment when Cowell, Managing Director of Mercedes AMG High-Performance Powertrains, was asked not to use the word “so” when starting a sentence. “Can you try not to start the answer with ‘So’?” Asked the producer as he began to re-record the video.

Cowell paused briefly, trying desperately not to do the one thing the producer asked him to do, but to no avail. Overall, a pretty amusing minute of smiles and laughter for the Mercedes fans who had to travel through a 2021 roller coaster season.

So will the engineers be able to produce even more ridiculous content like this in the next season? Well, let’s hope they do.
