Giovinazzi will be replaced by Chinese driver Guanyu Zhou for 2022, who is coming to Alfa Romeo with healthy support from sponsors, which the team hopes will open up even more commercial opportunities.
Giovinazzi took to social media following the announcement of Zhou’s arrival, expressing some frustrations about why he had lost his seat.
“F1 is emotion, talent, cars, risk, speed,” he wrote, posting a picture of himself sitting in a Ferrari toy car as a child. “But when money rules, it can be inconsiderate.”
Vasseur took note of Giovinazzi’s words and was not particularly pleased as he reminded the Italian of the need to remain professional at all times.
On ‘This Week with Will Buxton’ on how Giovinazzi should approach the rest of the campaign now, Vasseur said, “Well, honestly, I think it’s important for him to close the chapter at least this season and be on the right track To be gone. ” .
“I’ve seen the comments. To be honest, I’m not a big fan of that kind of attitude: Partly because the team gave him the chance to drive three seasons in F1 and Alfa Romeo gave him the chance to drive three seasons in F1. Tons of drivers would have dreamed of it.
“Now he will have other challenges. He has to do well on this other challenge and maybe he will return to F1 in the future. But the world is small and we have to stay professional. “

Alfa Romeo’s signing of Zhou means the company is now completing its line-up, having previously confirmed Valtteri Bottas.
Vasseur said the combination of a rookie and an experienced driver would be a great thing as he would be particularly decisive in the role of Bottas.
“He knew when he signed with us that it would be difficult for him to achieve the same results as Mercedes,” he said.
“But on the other hand, we gave him something else: that he be at the center of the project and be the main driver, and that’s not pessimistic about Zhou.
“He [Bottas] brings the experience. He will be the key to the development of the car and he will play a key role in the first few races.
“I think it was important for Valtteri to have this position on a team. When you’re Lewis’ teammate [Hamilton], you know very well that it won’t be an easy place, but you will be a bit in the shadow of your teammate.
“I think it’s an important step in Valtteri’s career, even if we don’t envision fighting with Mercedes next year.
“The position in the team will be completely different and I think it was an important step for him and for his own perspective.”
