After powering Lewis Hamilton and the Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 team to a record eight constructors’ championships, Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas will join hands with TVS Racing. Announcing the partnership, the TVS Motor Company said that TVS Racing, will henceforth be branded as Petronas-TVS Racing. The partnership, TVS said, will see Petronas supply TVS with high-grade racing oils to improve performance.
“Petronas has been at the forefront of motorsports for a quarter of century committing thousands of hours in the pursuit of product performance, reliability and efficiency,” said KN Radhakrishnan, Director and CEO, TVS Motor Company.
“This superior technology prowess will bolster TVS Motors’ Racing Ambitions,” he added, “As a partner, Petronas will be providing TVS Racing with special racing oils that will help in improving in performance of bikes competing in multiple championships and further elevating TVS Racing’s performance.”
TVS further said that its partnership with Petronas will extend to its Apache RTR E100, for the moment, and will apply to all races that TVS embarks on under its newly forged ‘Petronas-TVS Racing’ brand.
Acknowledging the significance of a partnership between two marquee racing brands, PETRONAS said the tie-up is one of many that it will embark on, in India.
“Through our involvement in global motorsports events, Petronas has been able to continuously innovate our fluid technology solutions offerings for the track and road,” said Anita Azrina Abdul Aziz, Senior GM, Group Strategic Communications at Petronas.
“We are proud to partner and extend our expertise to the TVS Racing Team,” she added, “We are highly motivated by this project.”
While the partnership between TVS and Petronas has been inked for a period of five years, both companies have evinced optimism in continuing to work together for a longer period.
